Are you a person who loves to cook and also meeting and interacting with people and have a passion for the outdoor life? A chef that is great at taking responsibility, leadership, planning and seeing the big picture? Then you are the one we are looking for!
 
The Swedish Tourist Association offers unique accommodation in extraordinary scenic places. Interacting with guests and being outdoors are often the main activities. At Kebnekaise Mountain Station we also want to offer our guests an unforgettable experience in the restaurant. The theme of the experience is tasty, hearty and local food. Old traditional cooking methods such as fermentation, pickling and juicing are commonly used here. We see it as an honour not to waste anything and work actively to reduce all waste. Besides serving our restaurant guests, we also provide food for our colleagues at the station. We take great care in preparing our staff meals because we know that a full belly helps you perform at your best. We also want to offer vegetarian alternatives that are just as well prepared as our other food, so we are especially looking for applicants with experience in vegetarian or vegan cooking. The bakery delivers bread each day for breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea (fika).
 
We are looking for a leader in the kitchen. You need to be organized both in your own work, and be able to structure and organize your team. We are looking for a person that can convey knowledge in a pedagogical manner and has a desire to help your colleagues grow and develop, all working towards the same goals. Your strong characteristics should be that you love to take on challenges and that you are good at finding quick solutions, can handle a high pace and stressful situations and have high work standards.
 
You will be responsible for purchases and planning of all meals at the station, so you will need to be good at calculations, finances, purchasing and kitchen economics. You should also know HACCP. We would like you to have a combined interest in cooking and providing our guests with the ultimate food experience.  
 
As a person you need to be social, service minded and like to work with others. Here, on the mountain, we all help out and do things together. So, it is important that you are comfortable with such a work setting, but that you can still take your own initiatives.

Additional information about the job 
Wages as per Swedish Union Agreement. The position is permanent at 80%, but a position at 100% can be arranged at another facility in between seasons if wanted.
 
The winter season starts at the end of February and ends at the end of April. The summer season starts at the beginning of June and ends at the end of September.
The position includes all meals, you will be living and eating at the mountain station. This will be deducted from your wages according to union contract. Staff living quarters are in a separate building with your own room.
